Final Wrap Up

So you finished, Limiting reagents, Predicted yields, and percetnage yields. This simply implies that you are the grand master of limiting reagents, the real question though is if you can retain this grand knowledge.
Lets go over what you know

1)
Limiting Reagents
A Limting Reagent is a substance that is totally consumed in a chemical reaction.
The steps are
a) Find GFW
b) Find Ratio
c) # of moles: grams/GFW
d) moles*ratio
e) smaller compound = limiting reagent

2)  Predicted yields
The Predicted yield is the predicted amount of product you will need in the equation
The Steps are
a) Find the limiting reagent
b) multiply by GFW of the resulting compound
That will give you the predicted yield

3) Percentage Yields
Percentage yield is the actual yield divided by the theorectical yield
There are two different types of problems
Finding the percentage
1)
find the predicted yield
2) divide the actual yield (given) by the predicted yield
Finding the actual yield
1) find the predicted yield
2) divide the percentage by 100
3) multiply the percent by the predicted yield
